     this weekend was one for the indoors.  while i would have loved to have gone to a holiday party, the sofa and throws were constantly calling my name.  i figured, just for fun, that i would put together what i might wear to a friend's holiday gathering.  i've had this red silk dress for about a year now and rarely wore it out of the house.  i thought chopping off the bottom of the dress and wearing it as a top might be a better option.  under high-waisted trousers with a bit of headgear and heeled black booties, i think it worked so much better as a top.  and as i said yesterday, festive red will be making a lot of visits throughout the next week or two.
