     today was the first of four full days of unemployment.  i spent a beautiful day running errands, shopping and organizing my life.  i picked up a few pieces for my new work wardrobe (and a sweet bomber jacket!) and am really excited to style them up in the coming weeks.  tonight i went to my favorite neighborhood dive and followed it up with a visit to a new yogurt shop .  overall, a perfect day.  i wanted to find a great outfit to trek around the neighborhood and this turned out perfectly.  this top is pretty versatile.  it is a great as a crop top and even better off the shoulder.  i love wearing orange with this silk skirt to bring out the little pops of orange throughout the floral pattern.

       i am getting up early tomorrow morning to head off to new hampshire with jeb for a gorgeous long weekend seaside.

     tonight i went to a barbeque at lin and casey's house and we had such a fabulous time just relaxing on the deck eating incredible food!  i wanted to wear something quick and easy and this maxi dress from a few years ago always works on hot summer nights.  i added the pink flower pin for a bit of color, as i find it is nearly impossible for me to wear only white.  this dress screams summer and it couldn't have been a more perfect for drinking sangria and lounging with people i love.

    okay, so before i say anything about anything else in these photos i need to spotlight bc footwear and tweet my style.  both of these lovely folks sent me this beautiful pair of sos flats and i am completely smitten.  they are the perfect combination of a sandal and an oxford.  this is probably the tenth time i have worn them, but i have been awful about photographing them. (so to bc footwear and tweet my style, thank you from the bottom of my heart and i apologize for not thanking you sooner!)

    now onto this outfit.  jeb and i had lots of errands to run tonight, after being away for a few days and i wanted something cool and breezy for this relentless summer heat.  this diaphanous peach top and a pair of jean shorts were the perfect answer to a hot summer night.  we stopped at this storage facility 

for some shots on our way to the market and i have to say i felt very kendi in front of the storage units.  so thanks to kendi as well for always being a big inspiration in fashion and in blogger scenery.

     i just got back from one incredible weekend.  jill and i drove to pennsylvania to surprise my mom for her birthday.  we drove straight from work on friday and got there around 1am and totally made her weekend!  we spent time with family, ate delicious lobster mac'n'cheese and enjoyed an amazing golf cart expedition.  it was a short time to spend with my family, but just to see my mom for a day made life seem so much better.  this week marks the official start of new beginnings.  wednesday will be my last day at my old job and then i head to portsmouth to visit one of the most amazing friends in the world.  after that, a weekend at the beach with jeb and his family.  so very excited!  too many things to be happy about right now.

     these are some photos that my younger sister, paige "peach," took of me on saturday.  a trip home wouldn't be complete without some major clothing being swapped.  it was really warm and humid this weekend so this beach dress was perfect for the farmer's market and shopping.  i love the bright pattern and it all came together with these great leather sandals.  the icing on the cake was definitely these amazing vintage betsey johnson sunnies that peach found at a flea market!  what a steal!

i dream of motorcycles.

     the perfect dress.  one of the two dresses in my wardrobe that is versatile and can be styled up hundreds of ways.  if you read my blog often then you've seen this dress at least ten times before.  today i thought i would try to wear it a little differently by adding a knit vest on top.  i typically pair this with a skinny leather belt and cardigan, but wanted something that felt a little less put together.  the vest and beaded belt did just the trick.  with my dexters added in, i think i kept the outfit perfectly balanced between polished and a bit of freestyle.

   onto the whole motorcycle thing.  last night i had an incredibly vivid dream that i did my best to keep up with a motorcycle gang...even though i've never even been on the back on someone else's motorcycle before.  let's just say that i am pretty good out there.  i was racing down the road, wind blowing in my hair, feeling completely bad ass.  now in reality, i have trouble steering a car so i knew that this whole motorcycle thing had to mean something else.  so now my friends, welcome to my other hobby....dream interpretation.  i am quite obsessed with searching for the meaning of my dreams through multiple dream dictionaries and other resources.  so, guess what!  riding a motorcycle in a dream means that you are ready for some freedom.  i agree!  so i am off to find some adventures over the weekend!
