transitioning.

wiley wears:

top: j.crew
cardigan: kensie
belt: vintage
trousers: limited
wedges: macy's
today's outfit definitely has that prep-factor.  i wore these navy wide-legged trousers which always make me feel comfortable in that old-school rugged j.crew kind of way.  they are super soft and worn in, making them an essential part of my work-week wardrobe.  i usually stay away from neon shades, but this textured tank was too great to pass up.  with a cardigan belted at the waist and my leather eyelet wedges i felt like this outfit was perfect for the transition from cold weather to warm weather.

here's to an amazing night spent with great friends eating one of my mom's amazing "secret" recipes.  off to bed, but wanted to make sure i posted these pictures that caroline so lovingly took.  even though i was a grumpy brat.  yes folks, some days i just do not feel like having my pictures taken...but i do it all because i love this blog.  trying to remind myself about that whole 'positive thinking' thing i have been trying to push.  so on a positive note, i will now snuggle into my comforter and fall unconscious for the next eight hours.  sweet dreams.

please don't go.

wiley wears:

dress: vintage diane von furstenberg
wedges: macy's
each time i think that i am ready for the hot days of summer i stop and think about this dress.  oh, won't it just be so sad when it is too warm for me wear this vintage beauty?  it is so easy to wear this dress since you don't need much more than a cute pair of shoes and some earrings.  anything else and you would just be taking away from the gorgeous vibrant pattern.  never have i fallen this hard for a piece of clothing (okay, i probably have, but not in the last year or so).  the final two photographs were the most important in tonight's photoshoot.  i love to show a spinning photo of each dress, as the twirl-factor is of the utmost importance in my choice of dresses.  and that third photo is me making a heart with my little fingers to say happy birthday to my big bro.
oh, and the first photo, i am looking at a cat. obviously.

the september issue.

i watched 'the september issue,' a documentary about the creation of the 2007 fall-fashion issue of vogue, last evening.  if you love the magazine and fashion alike, then you will love this movie.  always amazing to get a behind the scenes look and i have to say, anna wintour seems almost likable by the end.

rainy city streets.

wiley wears:

trench: gap
tunic: old navy
jeans: bdg
wellies: hunter
last night was a great night...even if i did get completely soaked in an intense puddle splashing contest with jill.  i wore this leopard print tunic and skinny jeans for a fun friday outfit.  i am not usually a huge fan of animal prints, but i saw this tunic and thought the color scheme kept it from looking too 'animal' for me.  the rest of my outfit was chosen for me...by the weather.  my trench coat and hunters kept me dry, well almost.  i hope everyone is having a lovely and dry weekend!

i really hate the dreary dark days of early spring, but there is something completely delightful about the rainy city streets.  as long as i have my trench wrapped tight around me, a sturdy umbrella and my hunter wellies, no puddle is left unstomped.  i am looking forward to exploring the side streets of the south end tonight with jill and happening upon a delicious south end eatery for some champagne and warm culinary goodness.
i hope everyone has a magnificent weekend!
